Business Analyst - Intermediate, Connvertex Technologies Inc., Ontario, CA
This role provides a comprehensive range of I&IT business analysis services for clients with diverse business and technological needs. The analyst interacts with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand and document requirements, prepares and advises on business analysis policies, processes, best practices and standards, and promotes a consistent business analysis practice within the organization.
Responsibilities- Lead and conduct business analysis to assess client business problems or opportunities and document requirements that enable I&IT solutions.
- Apply re‑engineering concepts to promote business improvements through alternative and cost‑effective service delivery approaches.
- Conduct business modeling, use case modeling, conceptual and logical data modeling, process and data flow modeling, and business rules definition for assigned projects.
- Prepare business cases, cost‑benefit analysis, and feasibility studies for business I&IT initiatives.
- Develop sound processes for requirements gathering, including JAD sessions, interviews, mockups, and other methods.
- Monitor progress, resolve problems, and report regularly to I&IT management and stakeholders.
- Develop performance measures and traceability matrices, and conduct follow‑up assessments.
- Support QA, UAT, architecture, and technical activities to ensure enterprise standards are met.
- Assist in product backlog grooming, product planning, and product lifecycle execution in collaboration with product owners.
- Coordinate discovery, cost‑benefit analysis, prototyping, and scope prioritization based on business and customer impact.
- Identify and manage dependencies with other teams to avoid impact on progress.
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder engagement, and sprint reviews to capture feedback and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide technical leadership and architecture expertise to project staff, colleagues, and clients.
- Engage in requests for proposals, evaluating vendor responses for I&IT business and infrastructure solutions.
- Manage production support and configuration management activities.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, consensus building, and problem‑solving skills.
- Commitment to effectively manage stakeholder relationships and navigate organizational approvals.
- Experience with Agile methodology facilitation, team coaching, impediment removal, and safe working environments.
- Proficiency in capturing feedback and documenting sprint reviews.
- Project methodology certifications such as Agile Coach, Scrum Master, Lean Six Sigma Black/Green/Yellow Belt.
- Knowledge of Ontario Public Service decision‑making and project implementation processes (asset).
- Experience with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Visio) and Azure Dev Ops/Jira.
- Experience with enterprise transformation, modernization, and service delivery projects.
- Familiarity with forecasting/budgeting documents.
- Ability to interpret data, policy, and financial information for evidence‑based recommendations.
- Act as liaison between technical and non‑technical teams.
- Experience developing context diagrams, use cases, and use case models.
- Experience developing business service blueprints, user stories, technical & business process flows, process maps, data flow diagrams, and customer journey maps.
- Experience creating systems diagrams and writing business cases.
- Experience developing cost‑benefit analysis and conducting feasibility studies for I&IT initiatives.
- Experience developing functional and non‑functional requirements and facilitating workshops to elicit, review, document, and confirm requirements.
- Experience developing performance measures for projects and lines of business.
- Hands‑on experience developing effective use cases and user stories.
- Experience on large and medium‑sized projects as a business analyst or functional consultant.
- Experience with enterprise business architectural concepts to align technologies with OPS standards.
