Job Overview
SAS & Mainframe Application Support Engineer at Atlantis IT group.
Location:
Toronto, Ontario, CA.
- Build new capability and investigation
- Knowledge and experience with SAS Base and macro programming
- UNIX/AIX shell scripting
- DB2 database SQL (or general SQL knowledge)
- SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Interactive, SAS Management Console (nice to have)
- Job scheduler such as CA7 and Auto Sys Web Sphere
- Strong troubleshooting and data analysis skills
- Knowledge on Support ITSM Incident Management, Application Support & Upgrade Support Diagnosis and Resolution
- Experience on Java J2EE programming, SOAP based web service and SQL for batch
- Exposure to Spring, Hibernate, Unix, MKSS trust and JSF programming
- Providing production support to applications running on Java and handling job abends
- Knowledge on Autosys
- Acknowledge receipt and start to investigate, diagnose, and analyze the L3 application incident
- Cooperate with TD group for investigation diagnosis and analysis of L3 application incident
- Provide temporary solution or a permanent solution to the incident which eliminates the root cause of the incident
- Documenting and reporting for a Priority 1 or Priority 2 incident, from receipt to resolution
- Week‑end on‑call support
- Mainframe platform exposure: JCL, PROCS, TSO, ISPF, z/OS, IBM utilities
- Exposure to Cobol and SAS programming
- Mainframe data structures, ability to extract/manipulate data (VSAM, DB2)
- SAS technology: data review, coding SAS scripts and extracting reports
- Experience of working in a client support role
- Worked on support projects and resolved tickets within agreed Service Level Agreements
- Providing production support to applications running on mainframes and handling job abends
- Experience required: 8+ years
- Experience with SAS Base and macro programming
- UNIX/AIX shell scripting
- DB2 and general SQL knowledge
- Knowledge of CA7, Auto Sys Web Sphere schedulers
- Java J2EE, SOAP-based web services, Batch SQL
- Spring, Hibernate, Unix, MKSS trust, JSF
- Auto Sys job management
- On‑call weekend support
- Experience with mainframe tools (JCL, PROCS, TSO, ISPF, z/OS, IBM utilities)
- Experience with Cobol and SAS programming
- Experience with mainframe data structures VSAM, DB2
- Digital: BI – Fundamentals of Business Analytics using SAS
