About

The Role

We are seeking a Sanitation Manager to join our team at our Ontario, CA bakery. As a Sanitation Manager, you will serve as the subject matter expert for food manufacturing hygiene, sanitation programs, and sanitary design. You will lead the sanitation function, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and drive a culture of cleanliness, safety, and operational excellence.

Compensation
  • Salary Range: $85,000 – $112,000.
Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)
  • Lead sanitation programs to ensure regulatory compliance, equipment hygiene, and facility cleanliness.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve sanitation processes, including SSOPs, master sanitation schedules, and audit readiness.
  • Manage department staffing, training, performance, and budget to support operational goals.
  • Implement and uphold GFSI standards, including BRC or SQF, to ensure world‑class food safety compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sanitation efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams and external vendors to support sanitation operations and improvement projects.
  • Use data, metrics, and inspection systems to validate sanitation performance and ensure program effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring To The Table)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science‑related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in food manufacturing and sanitation; 5+ years in a sanitation leadership role.
  • Experience with GFSI standards (BRC or SQF) and HACCP principles.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as needed.
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients For Success)
  • HACCP certification.
  • Bilingual capability.
  • Experience using Klenz or similar sanitation management software.
  • Experience leading sanitation programs in large‑scale bakery or food production environments.
