The Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing a team of 12–15 operators to ensure daily production and quality targets are consistently achieved. This role oversees shift activities, monitors performance, drives continuous improvement, and maintains a safe, efficient work environment. The Shift Supervisor supports safety enforcement, trouble‑shoots issues, and fosters team development to meet operational goals. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.
WhatYou'll Do
- Lead mill production technicians and coach them in meeting mill goals, assisting with the development of set‑up shift supervisors.
- Complete projects assigned by the Production Manager.
- Plan and execute mill maintenance shutdowns with the Production Manager.
- Maintain equipment through basic care rounds and operator maintenance as required.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure employees meet program requirements.
- Assist employees in gathering and analyzing data for continuous improvement efforts.
- Champion process improvement, communicating employee ideas to higher‑level managers.
- Explain and enforce policies; resolve work problems using collaborative problem‑solving techniques.
- Work with employees to resolve issues or complaints; communicate concerns with Production and Human Resources Managers.
- Perform other functions as assigned.
The schedule consists of rotating 12‑hour shifts. Example of a 28‑day rotation:
- 5 graveyard shifts (7p‑7a) – 3 days off – 3 day shifts (7a‑7p) – 1 day off – 3 graveyard shifts – 3 days off – 4 day shifts – 6 days off (repeat)
Need to Have:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical materials; effectively present information to top management and all employee levels.
- Strong troubleshooting background.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in Excel and various Microsoft programs.
Great to Have:
- Container board/Paper Mill experience.
- Experience working a rotating schedule, including graveyard shifts.

Benefits & Pay TransparencyPay Transparency:
The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $105,000 to $130,000. New‑Indy provides a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage; life and disability insurance; a retirement savings plan; paid holidays; and paid time off (PTO).
