Recreation Leader – Part-time Position

Looking for a rewarding job helping to serve the Ontario community? The City of Ontario’s Recreation and Community Services Department has an excellent part‑time opportunity for highly motivated individuals to provide programming at a city park, community center, or other recreational areas within the City.

• Leads and coordinates activities such as sports, arts and crafts, games, and special events.
• Organizes and leads activities at a city park, community center, or other recreational areas within the City.
• Oversees the work of volunteers.
• Maintains records and prepares reports.
• Performs score keeping, officiating, and field maintenance.
• Inspects facilities for safety.
• Oversees reservations at facilities.
• Administers First Aid.
• Assists public at counter/front desk; accepts registration; answers incoming calls.
• Performs other job‑related duties and responsibilities as required.

• Currently enrolled in high school or completion of twelfth grade.
• Recreation or customer service experience. Volunteer work, internships, and involvement in school activities are considered.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Selected positions may require CPR certification within a specified time period following hire.
• Required fingerprint review and pre‑employment physical examination, including a tuberculosis test.

• Volunteer with the City of Ontario Teen Action Committee or equivalent training.
