Position: REFERRAL SPECIALIST
Description
SummaryThis position is established for the purpose of providing support to functions of the Medicaid Services Division.
Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Assists the Medicaid Services Division staff with delegated tasks as needed.Networks with physicians, other social service agencies, providers, and AAA District 5 staff to coordinate service for individuals and obtain signatures as needed.Documents work activities in accordance with AAA5 and ODA specifications and time frames in prescribed computer programs, including, but not limited to: PIMS, Access Logs, Ohio Benefits, One Drive, Excel, and Word.Completes all components of the central referral process as assigned and according to established procedures and time frames.Contacts individuals and providers to initiate service and service changes as directed by the Case ManagerContacts individuals/representatives/informal supports to verify enrollment and referral information within established procedures and time frames.Maintains tracking logs, records, or reports as assigned.Provides coverage and backs up other Medicaid Specialists, as necessary.Assists in maintaining & upgrading computer applications.Maintains and promotes positive working relationships among Agency staff and the Aging Network.Embraces the Agency’s culture and exemplifies the four keys of excellence: customer service, courtesy, safety, and efficiency.Takes responsibility for exhibiting behaviors that contribute to service excellence.Must maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all Agency HIPAA policies and procedures.Understands the Agency’s Conflict of Interest Policy and complies with the Ohio Aging Network’s requirements for disclosure.Assists with and completes special projects and activities as assigned.Participates in training to maintain and improve job skills.Performs duties with respectful communications & behaviors.Requirements
Ability to prioritize, organize and maintain accuracy in a flexible job environment.Ability to make sound decisions and demonstrate critical thinking skills.Ability to relate well with all individuals, community agencies, and Area Agency staff.Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word and Excel.Embraces and exemplifies the Agency’s 4 Keys of Excellence- Safety
