Accountant (Temporary)
Pay Rate: $30.89 per hour
Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated Accountant for a temporary assignment with a respected organization. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to apply their expertise in a collaborative, mission‑driven environment while gaining valuable experience in financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and nonprofit accounting operations.
Position SummaryAs an Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the organization's financial operations by assisting with financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, audits, and maintaining accurate accounting records. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
- Analyze, record, and reconcile financial transactions.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Prepare and maintain audit work papers and supporting documentation.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and process necessary adjustments.
- Assist with payroll reconciliations.
- Manage fixed asset, inventory, and depreciation records.
- Review bank reconciliations, accounts payable activity, and grant expenditures.
- Assist in monitoring cash receipts, accounts receivable, and grant receivables.
- Maintain and monitor loan records.
- Support annual filing requirements, including Forms W‑2, 1099, and 1096.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and financial work papers.
- Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, government agencies, and internal staff.
- Uphold strict confidentiality standards in all aspects of the role.
- Effectively manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, Oregon Administrative Rules, OSHA regulations, and HIPAA requirements.
Required
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Two to three years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
