In the production plant, the Maintenance Technician performs a variety of general facility maintenance tasks. The plant operates 24/7, so the technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, disassembling, and troubleshooting complex equipment that supports production processes, including high‑speed automated machinery and other manufacturing equipment.
Job DetailsSchedule:
6:00 pm – 6:30 am. Rotating schedule—Thursday to Saturday;
Wednesday to Saturday (OT and off days as needed). Job Level: 2.
- Provide support to production lines by troubleshooting failures and other issues, and making necessary repairs to production and facility equipment to maximize efficiencies.
- Complete all assigned work orders and preventive maintenance tasks through SAP.
- Participate in rebuilds and overhauls on production line and support equipment.
- Assist with parts management by ensuring parts are checked out of stock and communicating any deficiencies to the Parts Planner.
- Provide consistent communication with fellow maintenance staff through end‑of‑shift reports.
- Support the Swire Manufacturing Continuous Improvement (SMCI) process by participating in established routines with production operators and following up on top causes of downtime.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Follow established safety, quality, and environmental policies, practices, and programs.
- Operate with technical skill the SAP Computerized Maintenance Management system for inventory and production line operational excellence.
- Clean tools, parts and equipment after line rebuilds, repairs and maintenance.
- Install new equipment as necessary and provide technical expertise to train and support production with a continued desire for lean supply‑chain process initiatives and improvement.
- Operate and monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed.
- Conduct quality reviews of equipment assigned to maintain safety and performance standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent degree/certificate.
- Trade school certified preferred.
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience.
- Excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read schematics.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Experience working with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC systems.
- Ability to learn new software and interfaces quickly; strong computer skills.
- Experience in carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, welding, fabrication, dock and door systems, and security systems.
- Experience with production facility repairs as assigned.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, production operators, and industrial technology preferred.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as directed by the business.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
