Full time. Shift: Night Shift (7pm to 7am, weekends required).
At Saint Alphonsus Health System, we seek a Registered Nurse for our Ortho/Med/Surg Unit at our Level IV Trauma Center in Ontario, Oregon. The RN will provide hands‑on patient care, collaborate with colleagues, maintain accurate documentation, and utilize resources wisely. The RN serves as a patient advocate, promoting physical, spiritual, and emotional well‑being, educates patients, administers prescribed medications and treatments, and develops care plans based on patient needs.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to a variety of patients on the Ortho/Med/Surg Unit.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to plan and deliver quality care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient status and interventions.
- Advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their physical, spiritual, and emotional needs are met.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and self‑care practices.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Develop and update individualized care plans based on patient assessment and progress.
- Participate in team‑based shift hand‑offs and quality improvement initiatives.
- Current RN license required; multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN preferred).
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required at hire; ACLS and/or PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS.
- Strong communication skills, ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, and commitment to professional growth.
