Librarian/Media Specialist
The part-time Librarian/Media Specialist will be responsible for assisting with the day/evening operations of the Library/Learning Resources Center (LRC).

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:
- Assist with the day/evening operations of the Library/Learning Resources Center (LRC).
- Work with faculty and students by suggesting library materials for use.
- Perform information literacy orientations for faculty and students.
- Develop and revise Lib Guides for various subjects.
- Assist with the selection, inventory, and organization of materials to support the program offerings of the college.
- Encourage the usage of library holdings and services among administration, faculty, and students.
- Provide assistance in the use of the library, its holdings, and services to all users. Assist students with locating specific information as well as the use of equipment and electronic holdings as requested or as the need arises.
- Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs for the provision of student or faculty assistance.
- Have working searchable knowledge of Alabama Virtual Library (AVL) and databases offerings for faculty and student assistance.
- Aid in the efforts of informing faculty of available library services and materials relevant to their course outcomes.
- Train and supervise evening work-study students assigned to the library.
- Work with the library staff in weeding the collection in various subject areas.
- Work at the Circulation Desk and take student IDs when scheduled or needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Academics and Director of LRC.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree with eighteen (18) graduate hours in Librarianship, Library Studies, Media Studies, or Library Information Science from a regionally accredited institution is required.
- Ability to be organized and work independently.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- College or university library experience in collection management is preferred.
