STEAM Grant Coordinator
The STEAM Grant Coordinator will report to the Director of Workforce Development. The STEAM Grant Coordinator is responsible for the recruiting and promoting the Technical Division's programs and work-based learning programs as well as representing and promoting career awareness programs throughout the College's service area. In addition, the employee assists Technical Division faculty with student retention and placement of graduates. The STEAM Grant Coordinator submits Skills for Success course requests, plans lab day activities, and submits and maintains all required documentation.
Salary:
Appropriate placement on the Alabama Community College System Salary Schedule E3: (Salary range: $41,349 - $66,218)
This is a grant funded position. Continued employment is contingent upon funding from the grant. In accordance with the provisions of the Students First Act, ACT , non-probationary status is not attainable by virtue of employment in this position, the funding and duration of which are finite.

Primary coordination of all STEAM initiatives and Technical Division outreach initiatives and Skills for Success trainings.
Lead the coordination and host STEAM camps for potential students i.e. STEAM camps, Manufacturing Day, Career Connections Expo, Open Houses, etc.
Organize and conduct industry connection events or career day activities for students in both credit and non-credit programs.
Assist students, counselors and advisors with career assessment and STEAM career exploration activities.
Primary coordinator of company tours and CIM visits for the purposes of recruiting STEAM/Technical Division students for education, full-time employment and internships.
Schedule and host industry, and college tours for STEAM/Technical Division students.
Tracking of recruiting activities and events for STEAM students including student contact information.
Promotion of SUSCC STEAM-related/Technical scholarship opportunities with high school counselors/career coaches, students and parents.
Develop and nurture relationships with local high school representatives.
Travel to service area schools and training sessions as required.
Evaluate program outcomes and develop a plan for necessary improvements.
Maintain accurate records and provide reports as directed by the Director of Workforce Development.
Lead employer connections
Assist in implementing college policies, objectives, and functions in accordance with College philosophy and procedures.
Maintain appropriate work hours and professional dress.
Adhere to prescribed policies of the College and the Alabama Community College System.
Perform other professional duties as assigned by the President, Dean of Technical Education and Workforce Development or the Director of Workforce Development
QualificationsMinimum qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited Institution.
- 2 years experience in one of the following: working with student services, teaching, or related field
