* About the Role:

** Hello, Special Education Aides! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Special Education Aide for a school setting in Opelika, AL. In this role, you'll play a critical role in supporting students with their daily academic, mobility, personal care, and self-help needs while promoting independence, safety, and success throughout the school day.

* What You’ll Do:

*** Assist students with feeding, toileting, personal hygiene, and other self-help skills.
* Support student mobility and safe movement throughout the school campus.
* Assist with transporting assistive technology devices and student materials as needed.
* Provide support with classroom activities, reading, and other curriculum-related tasks under teacher guidance.
* Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce material introduced by the special education teacher.
* Accompany students to the school office, nurse, and other areas as needed.
* Build supportive, professional relationships that encourage student independence and success.
* Participate in student support meetings and in-service training programs as requested.
* Perform additional classroom duties and assignments to support an effective and safe learning

* What We’re Looking For:

*** Must hold an Associate’s degree, OR
* Have completed at least 48 semester hours at a regionally accredited institution of higher education, OR
* Have successfully completed the Alabama State Board of Education-approved Work Keys test.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
* School-based experience preferred, not required
