Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

Mechanical Engineer I performs mechanical design for power system products under the direct supervision of an senior engineer or engineering team leader as assigned by the corporate engineering manager.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Technology.
• Experience:
  
  At least four years of progressive engineering‑related experience.
• Technical
  
  Skills:
  
  Proficient in PC and Microsoft Office Suite;
  Solid Works knowledge required.
• Travel: 5-10%.
• Work Schedule:
  
  7 AM – 5 PM, Monday–Friday (flexible as needed).
• Location:
  
  Onsite in Opelika, AL; relocation assistance may be offered.

• Perform detailed calculations to design system cooling requirements.
• Consult with internal and external customers on existing or potential product designs.
• Inspect completed installations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications.
• Compile data and write reports regarding engineering studies and projects.
• Contribute to creation of technical manuals.
• Operate computer‑assisted engineering and design software and equipment.
• Prepare technical drawings and mechanical specifications to meet standards and customer requirements.
• Plan and create layouts of mechanical construction projects under guidance of a senior engineer.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
