Job Overview
Electrical Engineer - Level 1 is responsible for performing basic electrical power, lighting, and/or low voltage system engineering tasks for electrical construction projects under the direct supervision of an upper level Engineer, Senior Electrical Designer, or Engineering Team Leader as assigned by the Corporate Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Prepares and studies technical drawings and electrical specifications to ensure that installations and designs conform to standards and customer requirements.
- Conducts field surveys and studies diagrams and other data to identify and correct power system problems.
- Operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Performs detailed calculations to compute and establish construction standards and specifications, with direction from an upper-level Engineer.
- Plans layout of electrical construction projects with direction from an upper level Engineer.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering; or Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Engineering – Electrical; or Associate Degree in Electrical Technology.
- 4 years of progressive electrical engineering related experience.
- Proficient in PC and Microsoft Office Suite.
- AutoCAD/Revit knowledge required.
- Knowledge of electrical terminology and symbols required.
- Knowledge of International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) necessary.
- Travel: 5‑10%.
Work Schedule:
7 AM to 5 PM, Monday‑Friday.
Location:
onsite in Opelika, AL. Relocation assistance may be offered for those outside of AL. Onsite training is provided but requires relocation to WI or KS facility for 3 months. Lodging, travel, and food are covered by the company during this time.
