Motor

Vehicle Operator

The Motor Vehicle Operator plays a vital role within the organization by operating vehicles and equipment to support assigned departmental tasks. This includes the operation of dewatering systems and transporting dewatered sludge to designated application sites, along with other assigned duties.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate dump trucks to transport materials to and from job sites.
  • Operate dewatering equipment and belt presses efficiently.
  • Perform manual labor, including adjusting polymer feeds and cleaning machinery.
  • Conduct minor repairs and routine maintenance on vehicles and assigned equipment.
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation as required by department protocols.
  • Perform general housekeeping and groundskeeping tasks.
  • Complete Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for all operated equipment.
  • Lubricate and maintain tractors and spreading equipment.
  • Attend safety training and strictly adhere to company safety policies.
Qualifications

Minimum of two years of related experience. High school diploma or GED required, along with one year of college coursework or vocational training in a relevant field. A valid state Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is mandatory, along with compliance with minimum driving standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of:
    • Cleaning tools, techniques, and required supplies.
    • Occupational safety protocols and equipment handling.
  • Skill in:
    • Operating and maintaining heavy machinery and tools.
    • Selecting appropriate equipment for various tasks with moderate discretion.
  • Ability to:
    • Accurately input and process data and complete work forms.
    • Communicate clearly with team members and the public.
    • Interpret technical instructions and follow procedures.
    • Perform work that requires constant attention and problem-solving under routine and high‑pressure situations.
Working Conditions

While performing job duties, the employee may encounter varying environmental factors such as extreme temperatures, humidity, noise, light intensity, dust, fumes, and odors. All safety procedures must be strictly followed to mitigate potential risks involving mechanical, electrical, chemical, or biological hazards.

Physical Requirements

The role requires frequent physical activity including standing, kneeling, climbing, and bending. Manual dexterity is necessary for operating tools and equipment. Heavy lifting (50+ lbs) and exertion exceeding 100 lbs regularly are required. Must be willing to work non‑standard or overtime shifts as needed. Normal vision, hearing, and depth perception are essential for safe and effective job performance.
