Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Industrial Maintenance
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment, facility systems, and machinery to ensure continuous and efficient operations. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting quality production by performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and equipment adjustments. The technician applies technical knowledge across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to sustain optimal plant performance.
Responsibilities(other duties may be assigned as needed)
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production and facility equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues and conduct appropriate repairs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, records, and documentation of repair history.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns with a sense of urgency to minimize production downtime.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and manuals to troubleshoot systems.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and participate in safety audits and inspections.
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
- High School graduate.
- 2-year technical degree in Industrial Maintenance preferred but comparable experience in Mechanical field is acceptable.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment.
- Vocational or technical training in industrial maintenance or related field preferred.
- Preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
- Use of diagnostic tools and equipment (multimeters, pressure gauges, etc.)
- Understanding of control systems and basic PLC troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of lubrication, HVAC, and fluid power systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, listening)

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining focus on safety and quality standards.
- This position works in a plant environment with frequent exposure to industrial noise, machinery, grease, dust, and changing temperatures.
- Shift work, including overtime and weekends, may be required based on production needs.
- Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, steel-toed or composite-toed shoes, hearing protection and gloves as appropriate.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift).
- Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching and lifting of materials and tools as needed (typically up to 50 lbs.)
- Must be able to observe and inspect machinery, parts, and work areas, sometimes in awkward positions or confined spaces.
- Ability to climb stairs or ladders to access elevated areas or platforms.
- Manual dexterity for operating control panels, handling small parts, and using hand tools.
