Position OverviewBlender Operator – Full‑time, 2nd Shift Fresh – 3:15 PM to 12:00 AM. Schedule includes Monday and Tuesday;
Wednesday off;
Thursday and Friday work;
Saturdays required when scheduled.
- Formulate 6 to 8 thousand‑pound batches of ground beef to predetermined specifications.
- Use statistical process control (SPC) tools to evaluate processing and raw materials data for continuous improvement.
- Perform analytical in‑process tests, evaluate results, and adjust to maintain uninterrupted supply of quality product.
- Maintain knowledge of PPE, OSHA, MSDS, lock‑out/tag‑out, GMP, SSOP, and HACCP.
- Observe equipment performance, report problems, and maintain clean, hazard‑free work area.
- Read, understand, and follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Document completed work as required.
- Perform assigned duties in Assembly/Disassembly, Scale Room, Block Person, and rework tasks.
- Other duties as required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Hands‑on knowledge of all assigned machines and procedures in the Grinding Room, forming area, packaging area, auto packer area, scale room, and/or finished product robot area.
- Reading and comprehension of simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence.
- Problem‑solving skills and effective communication.
- Mathematical proficiency: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division; use of weight, volume, and distance units in production paperwork.
- Ability to identify color differences, read labels, and perform measurements accurately.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lb. from floor to overhead, carry 30–50 ft., lift 60 lb. from floor to shoulder, push 60 lb. blocks, pull containers 30 ft., and climb occasionally.
- Ability to stand/walk 7+ hours per day, perform fine motor tasks, twist, turn, talk, hear, taste, and smell as required.
- Perform tasks in the meat department, including lifting, bending, reaching, gripping, and operating machinery.
- Use close and distant vision and color vision to differentiate items.
- Wear personal protective equipment and/or clothing.
- Stand/walk 7+ hours per day.
- Constantly use eye/hand/foot coordination.
- Twist/turn, talk/hear, taste/smell frequently.
- Squat, bend, reach, handle/finger, grip/grasp, and perform fine motor tasks frequently.
- Lift up to 25 lb. from floor to overhead and carry 30–50 ft.; lift up to 60 lb. from floor to shoulder and carry 30 ft.; push 60 lb. blocks of frozen meat 1–5 ft.; pull empty containers 30 ft.
- Occasionally climb and work in high places.
- Work in damp, wet, humid, and slippery environments.
- Work near moving machinery with fumes or airborne debris.
- Work with toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Work in extreme heat/cold (35–40 °F).
- Work in high noise levels requiring hearing protection.
- Work in spiral freezers (-35 °C to
-20 °C) for dry pickup and/or product jams.
- Bump cap, hair net, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, and smock.
- Rubber and cotton gloves.
- Machines and conveyors.
