The Fresh Department schedule includes working Monday and Tuesday, with Wednesday off, and returning to work Thursday and Friday. Saturdays are required when scheduled.

AboutThe Role
The Blender Operator plays a critical role in ensuring safe and efficient production operations. The primary responsibilities include maintaining personal and team safety, adhering to food safety standards, and ensuring product quality. Daily duties in production may include monitoring production lines and quality, machine operations within all areas of Frozen departments, housekeeping, loading, lifting, and any other assigned tasks. The role demands a fast-paced, team-oriented approach.
Associates must be adept at following established protocols across different departments and are responsible for keeping their work areas clean while effectively managing their time to complete tasks promptly. Work shifts and tasks may vary based on departmental requirements.
- Formulate 6 to 8 thousand-pound batches of ground beef to a predetermined, specified
- Use statistical process control (SPC) tools (i.e., averages, ranges, standard deviations, graphs, diagrams, charts, etc.) to accumulate and evaluate processing and raw materials data for fact-based decisions to continually improve the batching and control process and positively impact bottom-line business results
- Perform analytical tests of product in-process with accuracy and speed, and evaluate the results, making any necessary adjustments to maintain an uninterrupted supply of quality product to the finish grinders
- Knowledgeable in PPE, OSHA, MSDS, lock-out/tag-out, GMP, SSOP, and HACCP
- Observe and analyze equipment performance and report any problems to your supervisor
- Read and understand all company policies, procedures, and guidelines as they pertain to you and your job
- Keep the area clean and clear of any safety hazard issues
- Other assigned duties as required
- Must be able to understand operator functions in assigned operator roles such as Assembly/Disassembly, Scale Room Operator, and/or Block Person.
- Must be able to properly perform rework tasks.
- Document completed work as required by the supervisor.
- Compliance with all other duties assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must display "hands-on knowledge" of all assigned machines and procedures in the Grinding Room, forming area, Packaging area, Auto Packer area, Scale Room area, and/or Finished Product Robot area.
Skills:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.

- Ability to use mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, in accordance with production paperwork.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.

- Ability to perform a variety of tasks in the meat department.
- Ability to visually differentiate items of color, up close and in the distance
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment and/or clothing.
- Stand/walk 7 or more hours per day.
- Constantly use eye/hand or eye/hand/foot coordination to perform tasks.
- Constantly twist/turn, talk/hear, and taste/smell.
- Frequently squat, bend, reach, handle/finger, grip/grasp and use fine motor tasks.
- Frequently lift up to 25 lbs. from floor to overhead and carry 30-50 feet.
- Occasionally climb.
- Occasionally lift up to 60 lbs. from floor to shoulder level and carry 30 feet.
- Push 60 lbs. block of frozen meat 1-5 feet.
- Pull empty containers 30 feet.
- Constantly work in damp, wet, humid and slippery environments.
- Constantly work near moving machinery with fumes or airborne debris.
- Constantly work with toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Constantly work in extreme heat/cold (35-40 degrees).
- Constantly work in high noise levels requiring hearing protection.
- Occasionally work in high places and working on equipment causing whole-body vibration.
- Occasionally work in spiral freezers (-35
- -20 degrees) for dry pickup and/or product jams.
- Bump cap, hair net, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, and smock.
- Rubber and cotton gloves.
