Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead daily maintenance operations in a high-volume food manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and managing preventive maintenance programs while leading a team of technicians to support production goals and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily maintenance activities and ensure timely completion of work orders
  • Respond quickly to production breakdowns and minimize downtime
  • Schedule and monitor preventive maintenance (PM) programs
  • Lead and mentor a team of 10–20 maintenance technicians
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, USDA, and safety standards
Project & Budget Management
  • Plan and execute maintenance-related projects to improve efficiency
  • Monitor and control maintenance budgets
  • Track KPIs such as:
    • Downtime reduction
    • Cost savings
    • Equipment performance
Collaboration & Communication
  • Partner with production and cross-functional teams
  • Communicate maintenance standards and expectations
  • Act as escalation point for maintenance-related issues
Additional Responsibilities
  • Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Identify and resolve equipment performance issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
Must-Have Requirements
  • 3–6 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 2+ years in a supervisory/lead role
  • Experience leading teams of 10–20 employees
  • Strong experience with:
    • Preventive maintenance programs
    • Production equipment troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of:
    • Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with OSHA and USDA regulations
Required Skills
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Equipment troubleshooting and maintenance planning
  • Ability to read technical diagrams and blueprints
  • Knowledge of manufacturing maintenance practices
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel)
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Technical education (vocational / engineering / electronics)
  • Experience in food manufacturing or USDA-regulated environment
  • Experience identifying equipment anomalies and improving performance
