Facility Maintenance Technician
The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving building systems and infrastructure to ensure a safe, efficient, and fully operational facility. This role supports daily operations by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and responding to facility service requests promptly.
Key Responsibilities Include The Following (Other Duties May Be Assigned As Needed):- Troubleshooting, repairing, replacing facility infrastructure and utility systems.
- Perform maintenance work involving carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, concrete, etc.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks and assigned work order tasks.
- Install and maintain plumbing, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Install and remove equipment as needed.
- All tasks are to be completed according to internal and external safety policies
- Review and monitoring of current processes to optimize efficiency.
- Follow OSHA and company safety standards, including lockout/tagout and PPE use.
- Must have the ability to lift heavy objects/materials (50+lbs)
- Must be able to use various types of hand and power tools.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Must be competent to work at heights and operate boom/scissor lifts.
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in a related field is preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities related field
- Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of facilities equipment such as- HVAC, air compressors, electrical distribution, vacuum pumps, air dryers, interior and exterior lighting, plumbing, etc.
- Strong knowledge for performing routine and specialized maintenance tasks to ensure building, equipment, and other systems are functioning safely and efficiently.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance inspections and preventive measures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical work including climbing ladders, standing, and bending.
- Knowledge of building codes, OSHA regulations, and basic electrical/mechanical systems.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work without direct supervision.
- Basic computer required such as:
Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Outlook (email).
Legal Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age due to federal labor law requirements.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Working Conditions:
- Constant manufacturing floor and occasional office setting work.
- Frequent exposure to noise and moving machinery.
- Frequent exposure to slippery surfaces and occasional exposure to uneven surfaces.
- Constant requirement of PPE use.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, twisting, bending, reaching.
- Frequent lifting, carrying up to 20 lbs.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
Remote Work: This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
