This role is not available for any form of immigration sponsorship or support, including completion of the Form I-983 training plan required for STEM OPT. Responsible for performing a variety of skilled mechanic work to set up production equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and perform complex mechanical and facilities repairs. This is the senior level of the job family, and incumbents are expected to assume responsibility for troubleshooting and repairing the most complex mechanical, electrical, and facilities malfunctions.
Responsibilities- Uses hand tools, portable power tools, machine tools, electrical/diagnostic equipment, fabricating equipment, and material handling equipment to make repairs to facilities and equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyor belts, fans, etc.
- Examines equipment to diagnose problems; disassembles machines and repairs/replaces broken parts; constructs new parts; adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment such as making regular inspections and lubricating moving parts.
- Involved in development of Predictive Maintenance program.
- Completes production run set‑ups and changeovers on manufacturing/packaging equipment as scheduled.
- Accomplishes special projects including participating in the planning and design, and then making new installations, modifications, and fabrications.
- Overhauls/rebuilds equipment.
- Develops and maintains knowledge ranging from proficient to extensive in industrial equipment used by Pharmavite.
- Reviews maintenance manuals when troubleshooting a problem or to learn how to repair something.
- Identifies needed parts and orders them, within approval limits, as necessary.
- Involved in Continuous Improvement teams and participates in initiating projects.
- Plans complex and long‑term projects, including materials and resource planning.
- Uses computerized maintenance management system to access information.
- Performs duties in compliance with standard operating and safety procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
A High School Diploma or GED is required. Technology courses preferred.
CertificationTechnical certification preferred.
ExperienceRequires a minimum of four years of related experience in Technical/Maintenance positions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Skills that range from proficient to extensive in the setup, repair, and troubleshooting in industrial maintenance activities that are included in the following categories: mechanical, industrial electricity, and fabrication (machining, welding, etc.).
- Demonstrated knowledge in administrative and electronics categories.
- High skill level in troubleshooting and, where no procedures exist, creating new methods to make repairs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Windows operating system and software applications (spreadsheets or databases).
- Fluent English skills to read/understand complex maintenance manuals, safety procedures, research technical publications for information, communicate with supervisors and others, and maintain routine records.
Stand/walk and perform physical labor for most of the working shift. Pull, push, squat, etc. to accomplish repairs. Intermittently lift loads of up to 50 pounds.
