Position: Forklift Operator (Nights)

Position Summary

Responsible for the safe operation of forklifts and other equipment to receive, stock, pick, load, transfer, and ship raw or finished products, and ensuring accurate and complete documentation of the same.

Responsibilities
  • Use sit‑down and stand‑up forklift lifts to stock, pick, and transport pallets of raw/finished products in the warehouse, load/unload trucks, and transfer products.
  • Maintain product movement records in a computerized system, which may include radio frequency identification.
  • Packs and weighs boxes of products, assigns appropriate shipping methods, and prepares related documents.
  • Restack pallets and raw‑material drums (up to 600 lbs) and pick products from shelves (10‑150 lbs) for loading onto the forklift.
  • Perform daily forklift safety checks (fluids, horns, backup lights).
  • Operate wrapping machine to secure boxes on pallets and adjust tension or size controls.
  • Perform inventory duties, including counting, verifying, and checking documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Complete batch and other records, physically verify materials against records, and apply quarantine stickers to vendor receipts.
  • Enter data into inventory and batch records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate with leads and supervisors to schedule and prioritize material flow into manufacturing and other areas.
  • Use orders to locate and pull items from shelves, pack them for shipment, and move product with a forklift as needed.
  • Perform clerical duties in support of the department (daily shipping paperwork, answering telephone, inventory control maintenance, pre‑pack kit preparation, quarterly and other mailings, incoming/outgoing deliveries).
  • Perform all duties in compliance with safety rules and other assigned duties.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certification:
    Forklift certification required upon attainment of the position.
  • Experience:

    1 to 3 years of warehousing experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Good communication skills; ability to follow verbal directions and written procedures.
    • Ability to complete and maintain documentation logs and communicate via email and phone.
    • Basic arithmetic skills for counting, balancing numbers of products, and performing routine calculations.
    • Physical ability to reach, push, pull, and lift boxes weighing 5 to 600 lbs (raw material receiving), 5 to 300 lbs (component receiving), and 5 to 75 lbs (distribution) using powered industrial equipment.
    • Physical ability to drive/operate forklifts for the majority of the work shift and to push/pull/lift/roll products from 5 to 600 lbs with a forklift.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Work safely within tight deadlines and within open warehouse or production environments with limited protection from heat and cold.
  • Environment:
    Open warehouse or production; may be exposed to high and low temperatures; uniform, steel‑toed shoes, protective eyewear, and back support may be required.
  • Safety:
    Perform job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $39,000.00 – $63,000.00. Compensation may include an annual performance bonus, medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401(k) match, and other wellness benefits.
