The Maintenance and Automation Technician role at C&G Containers is a full-time, on-site position based in Opelousas, LA. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing production equipment and automated systems used in the pre-cleaning and processing of scientific containers. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine and preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and automation issues, and completing timely repairs to minimize downtime.

The technician will set up and adjust robotics and automated equipment, monitor performance, and make improvements to support safe, efficient operations. The role also includes documenting maintenance activities, collaborating with production staff, following safety and regulatory guidelines, and assisting with equipment upgrades or new installations.

• Strong troubleshooting skills for identifying, analyzing, and resolving equipment and system issues.
• Hands-on experience with robotics and automation systems used in manufacturing or processing environments.
• Solid understanding of electricity, including working safely with electrical circuits, controls, and wiring.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and automated equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment drawings.
• Familiarity with industrial safety practices and compliance requirements.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work with operations and quality personnel.
• Prior experience in manufacturing, packaging, or industrial maintenance; experience in environmental or pharmaceutical settings is a plus.
• Relevant technical certification or vocational training in industrial maintenance, automation, robotics, or a related field preferred.
• Capability to stand, move, and work around machinery for extended periods and lift moderate weights as required by the role.
