Job Description
The Ranger/Loss Prevention Agent ensures safety and security of guests, staff and property within the Resort. This role involves guest service, security monitoring, enforcement of park rules and policies, and emergency response. The ideal candidate will work proactively to prevent issues, support a positive guest experience, and respond effectively to any incidents that arise.
Job Duties- Patrol the resort to observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions. Evaluate situations and make logical decisions on how to proceed and direct work.
- Prevent speeding throughout the resort.
- Maintain order at the resort, dealing with the welfare of guests, assisting with door lock problems, and coordinating expedient response to emergency conditions such as fire or safety hazards. Handle undesired conduct, violations of resort policy and civil laws as warranted for the security and safety of guests, employees, patrons and property.
- Answer security/safety hotline calls and respond in a timely manner based on priority.
- Memorize and monitor life safety system including accurate layout of resort, locations of standpipes, fire extinguishers, complete alarm reports and checks and report any pertinent information from each shift.
- Observe monitors for any unusual activity and in the case of suspicious behavior report directly, via radio, to the supervisor on duty; report any alarms similarly.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or General Manager.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a campground or RV resort, preferred.
- Prior law enforcement, security or military experience, preferred.
- Ability to endure seasonal temperatures and weather as working conditions require constant outdoor work.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to provide legible written reports.
- Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and internet.
This is a part-time position working at Sun Outdoors located in Orange Beach, AL. The shift is eight hours from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., three or four nights a week, including some weekends and holidays.
