Front Desk Receptionist
Mid Florida Cancer Centers is seeking a professional and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist to join our team at our Orange City clinic location. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a critical role in providing a welcoming experience and maintaining the operational efficiency of our office.
Job Responsibilities:
- Financial Duties:
Perform daily financial tasks including collecting co-pays, processing payments, and maintaining accurate records of transactions in EMR and payment system. - Patient Intake:
Manage the check-in process, including updating patient information in our EMR systems, providing necessary paperwork, and ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete. - Administrative Support:
Assist with answering departmental questions, manage multi-line phone systems, and handle various administrative tasks as assigned. - Obtains demographic and insurance information on all patients. Obtains copy of patient's insurance cards and current driver's license for file and update all other demographics as needed.
- Flexibility &
Collaboration:
Support a fast-paced environment by multitasking effectively and providing coverage for other clinic locations (DeLand, Orange City, and Oviedo) as needed.
Experience:
- Experience in a medical office or clinical setting is highly preferred. (minimum 1 year)
- Strong proficiency in payment processing and handling financial transactions.
- Knowledge of HIPAA practices
- Solid understanding of medical office documentation.
- Exceptional multitasking skills with the ability to remain organized in a busy, multi-location environment.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, professional attitude when assisting patients and collaborating with other departments.
- Working knowledge of common office computer programs;
Word, Excel, Internet. - Ability and willingness to travel to other office locations for coverage as needed.
- EMR/medical terminology
- Bi-Lingual (highly preferred)
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
