Painter & Pressure Washer

Pain­ter & Pressure Washer role at John Knox Village of Central Florida.

Primary duties include painting, pressure washing, and related maintenance.

• Maintains equipment and has knowledge of pressure levels to avoid damaging surfaces.
• Painting: surface preparation (scraping, sanding, priming); applying paint evenly and consistently with different methods (roller, brush, sprayer); color matching and color theory basics; identifying and addressing paint defects.
• Pressure washing: using pressure washer machines and soft washing equipment; maintaining equipment and selecting appropriate cleaning solutions.
• Uses and maintains basic tools required to perform duties; ensures proper and safe storage of open paint containers and other regulated materials.
• Attends in-service meetings, daily meetings, and completes work order forms; responds to code red alerts.
• Performs manual duties as needed (moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs, removing trash and scrap material).

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Valid Florida driver's license in good standing.
• Experience in building/facility maintenance, painting;
  Vo-tech experience beneficial.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations. Physical requirements may include frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; stand, walk, sit; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; and see (close, distant, color, peripheral, depth perception).
• Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
• Quality Assurance & Safety: adherence to OSHA/NFPA and building codes, policies/procedures, and safe work practices.
• Must supply own small power tools, hand tools, and specialty tools necessary for the position.
• Customer/Guest Relations and Communications: maintain a professional, respectful, friendly demeanor with residents, family members, guests, and staff at all times.
