Location Details
Gastroenterology of Greater Orlando, Orange City
This position is scheduled Monday through Friday and includes inpatient coverage one weekend every 12 weeks. Responsibilities involve rounding, with no direct call requirements, at the following hospital locations: LMH Sanford, Advent FISH.
General Summary of Duties
Responsible for providing medical assistance to patients in office and in hospital, and receives training and direction from practice physicians.
Responsibilities
- Run daily GI outpatient clinic
- Accurately provide and counsel patients with information for medical treatment or procedures
- Answer emails and voicemails and return patient calls in a timely and efficient manner
- Abide by and promote HIPAA compliance; maintain strictest confidentiality with regards to patient information
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
- Master of Medical Science, Physician Assistant or Master of Science in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner; adult or acute care Nurse Practitioner preferred
- GI experience preferred; new graduates welcome
- Must be computer literate and able to operate practice management software and multiple Microsoft Office applications

- Work under pressure; assess, respond to, and communicate issues in a timely manner
- Maintain composure and set a professional example to patients and coworkers
- Communicate clearly with patients and coworkers through telephone, email, and in person
- Interpret and apply clinical and non‑clinical policies and procedures
Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands
Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment; travel as business needs dictate.
