Overview

RW Schools is a multi-unit franchisee operating innovative KLA Schools locations, including KLA Schools of Beachwalk (St. Augustine, FL) and KLA Schools of West Kendall (Miami, FL). We're excited to launch our new Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool in Orange Park, FL, targeting a June 1, 2026 opening. Our programs foster creativity, exploration, and holistic child development in a nurturing, collaborative environment. As Preschool Director, you'll build this center from the ground up, ensuring timely licensing approvals and aiming for 100 enrollments by August 1, 2026.

Key Responsibilities
  • General Administration
  • Conducts tours for prospective families, recruit/enroll children, and drive toward target enrollment of 100 by August 1, 2026.
  • Informs parents of school policies and resolve complaints or concerns.
  • Meets with parents on children's medical, educational, or psychological needs.
  • Monitors teacher-parent communication and lead weekly professional development for head teachers.
  • Plans school events, pedagogical calendars, and ensure timely acquisition of all necessary state and local licensing approvals.
  • Shapes programs, make decisions, and maintain a high-quality childcare center.
  • Organizes yearbooks and foster community relations with other preschools.
  • Financial Administration
  • Oversees fiscal control in coordination with headquarters, including payroll approval and personnel costs.
  • Reviews and updates staff compensation/benefits.
  • Orders supplies and materials.
  • Personnel Administration and Supervision
  • Builds and leads a team from the ground up:
    Develop staffing plans, recruit/hire staff, and provide orientation (including Employee Handbook review).
  • Coordinates scheduling, in-service training, and biannual performance evaluations.
  • Observes classrooms, mediates conflicts, and support staff development.
  • During initial months, participates in training while assisting at KLA Schools of Beachwalk as needed.
  • Public Relations
  • Builds community support as a liaison with local organizations, ethnic groups, and preschools.
  • Assists in teacher training/internship programs and oversees social media presence.
  • Prepares news releases, speeches, and brochures to promote the new center.
  • Reporting Relationship
  • Reports directly to the Owner and Executive Director of RW Schools.
Job Requirements
  • Knowledge of children's physical, emotional, and developmental patterns; general learning theories; and curriculum alternatives.
  • Professional skills in curriculum planning, staff training, program goal setting, and child evaluation.
  • Ability to develop innovative early childhood programs and identify needs for special attention.
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and similar tools.
  • Commitment to Reggio Emilia philosophy, state certifications, and ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to handle health/safety procedures and transition to virtual learning if needed.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to Miami, FL for training.
  • Initial work at KLA Schools of Beachwalk (St. Augustine, FL 32095) until Orange Park renovations complete and opening on June 1, 2026.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in child development or early childhood education (preschool-8 emphasis).
  • Bachelor's in elementary education with courses in child growth, preschool methods, nutrition, and child-care administration.
  • Associate's degree in child development with additional hours in psychology, sociology, nutrition, and administration.
Health Requirements
  • Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds and participate in activities with full range of motion.
  • Supervise children outdoors in varied weather; respond to emergencies with alertness.
