Job DescriptionESOL Assistants are primary facilitators of communication between teacher, student, and home. They do not plan instruction but support students based on assignments from the teacher.
Required Qualifications- For non‑Title One schools:
High School diploma or equivalent - For Title One schools:
High School diploma or equivalent plus one of the following: - Associate's degree from an accredited institution
- Sixty (60) credits minimum from an accredited institution
- Passing score (464) on the Praxis Paraprofessional test
- ESOL Assistants must possess bilingual skills in the language of concentration.
ESOL Assistants are not required to be Highly Qualified unless assigned to a Title 1 school.
