Role Overview

Responsible for supervising and coordinating the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems on commercial and/or industrial job sites. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct sprinkler fitters and apprentices on job sites; assist with installation as needed
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily work activities to meet project deadlines
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Ensure installation complies with NFPA standards, local codes, and company policies
  • Coordinate with general contractors, other trades, and inspectors
  • Monitor material usage and ensure proper handling and storage of equipment
  • Conduct site safety meetings and enforce safety regulations
  • Inspect work for quality control and resolve issues as they arise
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, timekeeping, and project documentation
  • Train and mentor crew members to improve performance and skill development
Required Skills and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in fire sprinkler installation; prior leadership experience preferred
Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, piping, and installation methods
  • Familiarity with NFPA codes and local regulations
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction documents
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Working Conditions
  • Indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to high and low temperatures
  • Exposure to noise and dust
  • Must be able to bend, climb, and work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, or working in awkward positions
Other
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record
