Role Overview :Responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems to ensure they function properly and comply with applicable codes and safety standards. This role plays a critical part in life safety by identifying deficiencies, documenting findings, and recommending corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes
- Identify deficiencies, impairments, or code violations and clearly document findings
- Generate detailed inspection reports and communicate results to clients, supervisors, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ)
- Conduct functional testing of system components including valves, alarms, and flow devices
- Coordinate with service and installation teams to ensure deficiencies are resolved
- Maintain inspection tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good condition
- Keep up to date with changes in codes, standards, and industry best practices
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations
Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in fire sprinkler inspection, installation, or service
- NICET certification in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 25 and related fire protection codes
- Ability to read and interpret system drawings and inspection reports
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and customer service abilities
- Indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to high and low temperatures
- Exposure to noise and dust
- Must be able to bend, climb, and work at heights and in confined spaces
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, or working in awkward positions
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record
