FUNCTION: CONSTRUCTION CLASSIFICATION: FULL TIME – NON-EXEMPT – HOURLY

POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
Dock Experts construction laborers make up the bulk of our field force: both barge and land crews: performing work on daily, weekly, and project-based activities for all our marine construction projects. High levels of integrity, accountability, the willingness to speak up, and an unshakable ability to maintain a brisk pace and consistent positive, can-do attitude are necessary in upholding TDX quality and safety standards while disrupting and challenging the industry status quo.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Ensure proper setup, operation, take down, cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of materials, equipment, and machinery
- Assist in loading/unloading of materials, equipment, and supplies to and from trucks, jobsites, and barges, ensuring proper stowage and securing of cargo to prevent shifting or damage during transit
- If operating on a barge, assist in proper mooring/anchoring of vessels, handling lines, chains, and anchors in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines
- Perform tasks aligned to projects: demolition, construction, and/or installation of seawalls, docks, piles, boat lifts: digging, shoveling, lifting, carrying, carpentry, framing, rigging, positioning structural components, and working with a wide variety of tools and equipment
- Ensure construction equipment and tools are clean, organized, and stored in an orderly fashion after each use. Dispose of rubble/debris/trash and hazardous, worn, damaged, outdated, or other waste materials from work areas and maintain a baseline organization and site cleanliness
- Assist with routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning/painting/lubricating equipment & machinery. Identify and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel for resolution
REQUIREMENTS
- ESSENTIAL JOB, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Construction experience
- Current, valid driver's license
- Reliable personal transportation
- Conversational in English
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
- Ability to work a full shift in extreme heat
- Ability to swim
- Ability to pass a controlled substance screening
- Ability to pass a background check
- PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS
- Experience in marine construction
- Possess a working knowledge of engineering drawings, sketches, and blueprints
- OSHA 10 Certified
- OSHA 4-Hour Qualified Rigging & Signaling
- CPR & First Aid Certified
- Class A CDL license
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
