Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $30.00 to $37.00 per hour.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly rent invoices manage collections and review tenant activity for accuracy.
  • Track tenant sales information and calculate percentage based rent as needed.
  • Maintain rent rolls and tenant accounts and ensure all rent and common area related charges are recorded and collected properly.
  • Complete accounting tasks tied to tenant move in and move out activity while supporting property managers with related questions.
  • Assist with tenant communications and provide accounting support for assigned properties.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor degree in accounting finance or a related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with preference for experience in commercial real estate.
  • Understand budgeting concepts and common area reconciliation practices.
  • Work confidently in property management systems with familiarity in programs such as App Folio or Yardi.
  • Use Excel with advanced skill and manage several tasks in a fast paced environment.
Qualifications:
  • Manage daily accounting activity for residential and commercial properties including accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.
  • Reconcile bank statements credit card activity and general ledger accounts with accuracy.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports analyze variances and support annual budget and forecast work.
  • Track capital spending and monitor project activity while ensuring compliance with policies and controls.
  • Communicate clearly work independently and maintain strong organization habits to meet deadlines.
