The Showroom Sales Lead is a high-touch, relationship-driven role that supports an elevated clientele through personalized sleep consultations, private fittings, and exceptional service. This position blends luxury service, design collaboration, and wellness-oriented product expertise. Purpose of role:

Custom Comfort Mattress is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to support product costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost analysis within a vertically integrated mattress manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining BOM accuracy, monitoring production variances, supporting new product costing, and providing visibility into margins, cost drivers, and operational performance.

As the company continues to grow and evolve, this role will help ensure cost data remains aligned with raw material changes, vendor pricing updates, production efficiencies, and new product development initiatives. The ideal candidate enjoys partnering closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance teams to support profitability, inventory accuracy, and operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Costing & BOM Support
  • Maintain and update standard costs for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Maintain and update Bill of Material revisions with accurate materials, quantities and yields.
  • Lead role in development and integration of labor routings, burden rates to establish fully costed BOM’s within Netsuite in partnership with Operations.
  • Assist with cost rollups for new products, product updates, and material changes
  • Track and validate vendor price changes to ensure standard costs are updated on a timely basis.
  • Analyze and update landed cost templates related to offshore supply chain
  • Support pricing analysis and margin visibility for new and existing products
Manufacturing Variance & Cost Analysis
  • Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances and investigate root causes
  • Prepare monthly variance reports and communicate key drivers to Finance and Operations leadership
  • Track and analyze material usage variances to identify discrepancies in bill of materials, vendor returns, and inventory adjustments
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve cost visibility, accountability, and operational efficiency

Responsible for month-end close activities related to inventory and WIP accounting

  • Reconcile production orders, inventory balances, and manufacturing transactions
  • Lead role managing cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory audits
  • Reconcile account mapping in Netsuite to general ledger
New Product & Change Management Costing
  • Support costing for new product introductions and product line updates
  • Model cost impact of material changes, supply chain updates, and operational changes
  • Support pricing, margin analysis, and business case development for new items

    Ensure cost structures remain aligned with operational and product changes
  • Support FP&A and leadership reporting related to margins, inventory performance, and cost-to-serve analysis
  • Assist with audit support, documentation, and internal controls related to inventory and COGS
  • Help identify process improvement opportunities within costing, inventory, and reporting functions
Qualifications:

Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 3-5 years of cost accounting experience using standard costs
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, BOMs, WIP, and inventory accounting
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (Net Suite or equivalent experience preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Operations
  • Experience supporting new product costing and margin analysis
Preferred
  • Experience in mattress, furniture, consumer products, or related manufacturing environments
  • Experience to variance analysis, inventory controls, and cost modeling
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Primarily a desk/computer-based role
  • Comfortable working onsite and spending time in the factory and warehouse as needed
  • Comfortable to spend time on the production floor and participate in inventory and operational activities
  • Ability to occasionally lift light materials or files up to 25 pounds
