Position Overview
A growing healthcare services organization is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead general ledger accounting operations, oversee month-end close activities, and drive process improvements across a complex, multi-entity environment. This is a highly visible role that requires a hands-on, adaptable professional who thrives in a fast-paced setting and can effectively manage the domestic and work with the offshore accounting teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead general ledger accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Review and analyze financial results, including flux analysis and account reconciliations.
- Oversee general ledger accounting activities and maintain strong internal controls.
- Partner with executive leadership to support financial reporting, compliance, and business initiatives.
- Lead a combination of onshore and offshore accounting personnel, providing coaching, accountability, and performance management.
- Drive process improvements, standardization efforts, and operational efficiencies across multiple systems and business units.
- Ensure adherence to accounting policies, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
- Support audits and work closely with external auditors and advisors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management responsibilities.
- Prior accounting experience within a complex, multi-location, or multi-entity organization.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting experience.
- Experience managing month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Proven ability to lead through change and improve accounting processes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to thrive in a demanding environment and effectively manage competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare services, dental services, physician practice management, or other healthcare-related industry experience.
- Experience working with offshore/shared service accounting teams.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
