The Commercial Paint Estimator/Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Orange, CA. This position is responsible for preparing detailed estimates for commercial painting scopes, including reviewing plans, specifications, and site conditions to develop accurate quantities, pricing, and proposals. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with general contractors and clients, developing budgets, managing schedules, and overseeing painting projects from award through completion to ensure quality, safety, and cost control.
The role also involves collaborating with field teams and subcontractors, tracking project progress, addressing issues on-site, and maintaining clear documentation and communication. The ideal candidate will support both estimating and project management functions, helping to secure new work and deliver successful projects on time and within budget.
- Candidates should possess strong Construction Estimating skills, including reading blueprints, analyzing scopes of work, and preparing detailed painting proposals.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with clients, contractors, vendors, and field teams, and to document project information clearly.
- Candidates should possess Budgeting and cost-control skills to develop project budgets, track expenses, and support financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Roofs and related building envelope components, enabling accurate assessment of painting and coating requirements on commercial projects.
- Candidates should possess Project Management skills to plan work, manage schedules, coordinate resources, and ensure timely, high-quality completion of painting scopes.
- Relevant experience in commercial construction, preferably with drywall, or tenant improvement projects.
- Ability to work on-site in Orange, CA, including regular visits to project locations as needed.
- Proficiency with estimating and project management software, as well as basic office tools (e.g., Excel, email, digital plan platforms).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple bids and projects simultaneously.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or construction-related education is beneficial.
