Description
Chapman University invites applications for a one-year, full-time, instructor or instructional assistant professor of Italian Studies within the Department of World Languages and Cultures, Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, effective August 2026.

Responsibilities
The successful applicant will teach lower and upper-level Italian language courses in a thriving and dynamic program dedicated to teaching the Italian language and culture through technology, innovative methods, and community building. Expectations include assisting with program event coordination.
Qualifications
Required:
- M.A. in Italian or related discipline
- Native or near-native fluency in Italian
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching Italian at the college level
- Willingness to assist in program coordination and extra-curricular programming
- The ability to teach lower and upper-level courses in the curriculum is required
- Ph.D. in Italian or related discipline
- Demonstrated engagement with innovations in the field through attendance to pedagogical workshops and conferences
