DescriptionChapman University seeks applications for a one‑year, non‑tenure track appointment at the rank of Instructor or Clinical Assistant Professor Chemistry beginning in August, 2026.

The college’s new 140,000‑sq‑ft Keck Center for Science and Engineering, along with the newly founded Dale
E. and Sarah Ann Fowler School of Engineering, represents its commitment to modern research and teaching infrastructure.
The undergraduate‑only serving Chemistry and Biochemistry Program hosts faculty specializing in physical, organic, analytical, inorganic, and biochemistry. The ACS‑accredited B.S. Chemistry program and the ASBMB‑accredited B.S. Biochemistry program emphasize personalized education, small class sizes, innovative teaching, and strong student‑faculty interactions.
Responsibilities- Teach lectures for semester‑long courses of organic chemistry and/or general chemistry core requirements for science majors.
- Hold student office hours, provide personalized student mentoring, and complete grading duties.
- Participate in program faculty meetings and related activities.
- Serve in a full‑time, non‑tenure track capacity with in‑person teaching responsibilities and required on‑campus availability at Chapman’s Orange campus.
- MSc in Chemistry (PhD preferred).
- Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching organic chemistry and/or general chemistry.
- Experience teaching a diverse range of undergraduate students in a lecture environment using evidence‑based instructional approaches and inclusive classroom management strategies.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
To qualify for the rank of Clinical Instructional Assistant Professor, the applicant must hold a doctoral degree.
