Infant & Toddler Teacher

Reggio Emilia Inspired Preschool Environment

We are looking for full-time early childhood educators for an Infant/Toddler classroom. Candidates must have experience as an Infant/Toddler teacher. Shifts will vary during school hours, between 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The school environment is a creative, safe and nurturing place, where children explore and learn through an emergent curriculum inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy. Judaic values and traditions are incorporated into everyday learning.

The physical demands described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:
Talk and hear, full use of hands and fingers to handle, feel objects, tools, or keyboards; and reach with hands and arms, occasional moving/lifting/carrying of weight ranging from 10-40 pounds, walking or standing for up to four (4) hours at a time with a 10-minute break, squatting, bending and stooping to a significant degree, reaching overhead while balancing approximately 10 lbs, pushing and pulling approximately 10 lbs and specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.

MUST HAVE 12 or more units of Early Childhood Education coursework including: (1) Child Development (2) Child, Family, Community (3) Early Childhood Curriculum/Practicum/Guidance (4) Infant/Toddler Curriculum All qualified candidates are required to e-mail a copy of official or non-official transcripts for proof of all California state licensing ECE/CD/HD coursework completion. Candidates must be US Citizens and have proof of US citizenship. Candidates must have adult & child CPR, first Aid & AED certification or be willing to obtain certification before hire date. Competitive wages based on years of experience and education.

Club J Enrichment Counselor

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Merage Jewish Community Center of Orange County is a fast-paced family oriented, non-profit, and located in a 220,000 square foot facility with Orange County's finest after school program - Club J. along with the finest summer camp program – Camp Haverim. We provide services to the community including fitness, sports leagues, aquatics, camps, pre-school, and cultural arts. Our employees are able to use the facilities – one of many benefits.

Club J after school program offer multiple classes, i.e. academics, science, history, sports, Judaic, language, performance arts and cultural arts; 18-24 classes within an 8 week session during the calendar school year. Each enrichment class is run by a qualified educator/instructor with specialized skills. Come join our Team!

Qualifications:

Counselor/ Staff will assist instructors and be responsible to assist in programming. Strong customer service skills, including an outgoing personality, friendly disposition, self-confidence, and maturity. Must be self-motivated, engaging, and have the ability to enthuse a wide range of participants. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor. Experience in childcare, early childhood education, or a related field.

If under 18 years old, must provide a Work Permit from your high school. Live Scan, CPR, AED, and First Aid certified or willing to complete upon hire.
