Temporary Attendance And Conduct Coordinator

At the direction of the Dean of Students, the Temporary Attendance and Conduct Coordinator is responsible for supporting student attendance, behavior, and accountability through Christ-centered leadership and relational engagement with students, families, faculty, and staff at Orange Lutheran High School. This temporary position will focus primarily on student attendance, monitoring behavior intervention, and the implementation of school expectations and policies that support a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.

The Temporary Attendance and Conduct Coordinator works collaboratively with the Dean of Students and other applicable school leaders to promote student success, encourage positive behavioral growth, and support continuous enrollment standards. The position pursues effective communication, healthy partnerships, and proactive intervention strategies with all community stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and parents. The Temporary Attendance and Conduct Coordinator will exercise sound judgment and discretion in responding to attendance concerns, behavioral matters, and student support needs while maintaining a compassionate, student-centered approach that supports students' holistic well-being and positive standing within the Orange Lutheran community.

Essential Duties:

  • Support the mission and values of Orange Lutheran High School through Christ-centered leadership, communication, and decision-making
  • Demonstrate school-aligned independent discretion in addressing matters related to student attendance, behavior, accountability, and adherence to Orange Lutheran community standards
  • Serve as a primary support person for student attendance intervention, including monitoring attendance data, identifying patterns of absenteeism or truancy, and partnering with students and families to improve attendance outcomes
  • Communicate proactively with parents and guardians regarding attendance concerns, behavioral incidents, and intervention plans
  • Collaborate with the Dean of Students on disciplinary matters, investigations, student accountability measures, and restorative practices
  • Investigate behavioral incidents involving student misconduct, document findings, communicate outcomes, and ensure accurate records are maintained in accordance with school policies
  • Support the implementation of school-wide behavioral expectations and promote a positive and respectful campus culture
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, counselors, coaches, department chairs, and administrators to identify students in need of behavioral or attendance support and coordinate intervention strategies
  • Facilitate meetings with students and families regarding attendance contracts, behavioral concerns, and school expectations
  • Mediate and resolve conflicts among students or between students and staff in a manner that promotes restoration, accountability, and healthy relationships
  • Assist in monitoring student conduct during the school day and at school-related activities and events, as assigned
  • Respond appropriately to student crises, behavioral escalations, or emergencies, and ensure students are connected with the appropriate support personnel
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all student and family matters

Additional Duties:

  • All other duties as assigned, including leadership duties related to events where students are present and assistance with tasks in other offices and departments.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree required

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of successful experience preferred, working with or leading high school-aged students in various capacities

Licenses, Certificates, and Clearances:

  • Cleared Background/Fingerprint check
  • Valid CPR certifications
  • Cleared TB assessment
  • Completion of Ministry Safe Training

  • Technologically literate:
    Comfortable writing and presenting material using Apple products (including tablets) and several software packages, including Microsoft Suite and Google platforms
  • Deep experience in the design, integration, implementation, and management of a school, including knowledge of best practices, school operations, and management.
