The Adjunct Faculty Instructor
-Allied Health will teach assigned courses, prepare syllabi and lesson plans, and deliver engaging, inclusive instruction aligned with department and college standards. Responsibilities include assessing student learning through assignments, exams, and projects, providing timely and constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate records of grades and attendance. The role also involves holding regular office hours, supporting students’ academic success, and referring students to appropriate campus resources when needed.
Adjunct Faculty are expected to participate in required trainings, follow institutional policies, and collaborate with department colleagues on curriculum and assessment efforts.
- A bachelor’s degree and 2 years of professional experience, or an associate’s degree and 6 years of professional experience, or a CTE Credential in the relevant discipline or a closely related field
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver college-level instruction that supports diverse learners and promotes equitable student outcomes.
- Strong skills in course planning, classroom management, and the use of instructional technologies and learning management systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in spoken and written English, with strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to assess student performance using varied methods, provide constructive feedback, and align evaluation with course outcomes.
- Experience or training in inclusive, culturally responsive, and student-centered teaching practices.
- Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration, and to support the mission of a community college serving a diverse population.
- Familiarity with community college students’ needs and challenges; prior community college or higher education teaching experience is preferred.
