Schmid College of Science and Technology at Chapman University seeks applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool for potential teaching opportunities in the following disciplines:

• Biological Sciences
• Biochemistry
• Chemistry
• Environmental Science & Policy
• Food Science
• Mathematics
• Philosophy
• Physics

Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term, so applicants must be available at times on very short notice. Fall contracts begin in mid-August and end late-December;
Spring contracts begin in mid-January and end mid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer and Interterm Sessions may also be available.

• Teach one or two lab or lecture courses during the term.
• Maintain regular office hours, attend instructor meetings and orientations as required.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the subject area being taught.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing.
• Strong commitment to student learning, quality teaching, and student excellence.
• Ability to teach in-person on our campus in Orange, CA.

• Graduate level degree from an accredited institution in the subject area being taught.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching at the undergraduate level, or relevant field experience.

The pay range for course and course related work for this position is $48.24 per hour. This position is contingent on final budget approval. Successful completion of a background check is required for all selected candidates.
