Job Overview
AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our team based in Orange, CA. This role supports projects across industries including entertainment, commercial, industrial, government, detention, and parking structures. It offers the opportunity to develop analytical and design skills with a focus on seismic design, seismic retrofits, and advanced structural analysis methods.

Responsibilities- Build analytical and design skills.
- Conduct engineering design under the limited supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under limited supervision.
- Collect and analyze data under limited supervision.
- Use computer software to solve basic engineering problems.
- Perform work in accordance with budget and schedule under supervision.
- Perform structural analysis and design.
- Coordinate work with other design disciplines and prepare contract documents.
- Conduct construction administration.
- Author structural reports, assessments, and studies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering and 2 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency.
- US Citizenship due to federal contract/security requirements.
Preferred Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience applying all major structural design codes.
- Experience using 3‑D structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP, RISA, RAM, SAFE).
- Experience designing in Steel, Concrete, Masonry, and Timber.
- Experience with ASCE 41 for retrofit of existing structures.
- Experience with wind and seismic lateral design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with REVIT/AutoCAD for production support.
