At AECOM, we are seeking a creative, highly talented Water/Wastewater Conveyance Technical Leader/Senior Project Manager
, focusing on water/wastewater infrastructure design with in-depth experience in municipal public right‑of‑way conveyance and pumping systems, for immediate employment in our Orange County or Los Angeles County offices.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with regional and national AECOM experts to provide cutting‑edge solutions and seek new municipal business opportunities.
  • Work with senior technical staff and marketing staff to deliver winning proposals.
  • Serve as Client Services Manager for select clients.
  • Conduct planning and staff meetings.
  • Oversee successful delivery of technical work.
  • Serve as Seller/Doer, Project Manager, and technical lead for the planning, design, permitting and construction of water/wastewater conveyance and pumping projects, including new construction, rehabilitation/renewal, and public right‑of‑way utility relocation.
  • Oversee project elements including reports, hydraulic models, calculations, drawings, construction plans and specifications, permitting packages, and construction phase engineering services.
  • Perform project management activities such as coordination with clients, sub‑consultants, regulatory agencies; scope, schedule, and budget development; team coordination; interdisciplinary coordination; budget and schedule tracking; invoicing; and payment of consultants and contractors.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing professional growth opportunities with a focus on water/wastewater conveyance.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and ability to direct multi‑disciplinary teams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive water/wastewater engineering experience, including planning, design and construction of municipal water/wastewater conveyance and pumping projects.
  • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License and ability to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in California or able to obtain licensure within 6 months.
  • 15+ years of progressive water/wastewater engineering experience.
  • Experience in preparing engineering proposals and business development.
  • Experience managing and/or delivering projects using alternative delivery approaches such as design/build, progressive design/build, and construction management at risk.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with diverse audiences.
  • Proven project management fundamentals and track record of delivering water and wastewater projects.
  • Experience supervising other engineering professionals with strong staff development, mentoring and management skills.
  • Track record of leading technical engineering and securing additional projects from clients.
  • Occasional business travel (1–3 days per month).
  • Sponsorship will be considered for this position.
  • Relocation will be considered for this position.
