Job Description
AECOM has an opening for an experienced Electrical Engineer to be based in Orange, CA.
The Electrical Engineer will join a multidisciplinary, collaborative team with a range of expertise supporting the expansion of their knowledge base with the ability to travel and gain field experience.
Join a practice filled with professionals pioneering Energy Conservation and Zero Carbon initiatives, focusing on renewable energy projects for high-performance buildings. Our Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism, and planning, strategy +, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory, and cost and program management. Job Summary /Responsibilities
* Electrical engineering support from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy
* Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
* Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
* Support in the review of shop drawings during the construction administration phase
* Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
* Write reports and memos for internal and external purposes based on findings
* Works cooperatively with managers and other employees to achieve company's mission
* Ensures discipline plans that are created meet overall project team requirements for project scope, quality and schedule
* Stays current on codes and technologies appropriate to the electrical disciplines
* Support on site visits for the purpose of data collection and evaluation of electrical systems, equipment, components and materials for projects
* Develops designs within a BIM design environment
* Completes assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client specified criteria and applicable codes and standards
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
* BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related field +2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelors degree from an ABET accredited University and has passed the fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT/FE)
* Strong communication skills: articulate, assertive, and confident
* Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills
* Desire to be mentored by leadership.
* Experience with sustainable design
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy/quality of work.
* Proficient in the use of drafting software including Revit and AutoCAD
* Power system studies experience utilizing SKM, ETAP or Easy Power.
* Lighting calculation experience with Visual, AGI
32 or Elumtools.
* Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard Microsoft software.
* Ability to work with and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
