Geographic Information Systems; GIS Intern at AECOM Orange, CA

Job Description

AECOM is seeking a GIS Intern based in Orange, CA. This position is expected to begin in May 2025.

• Produce cartographic maps, graphics, and figures.
• Create, edit, and maintain various types of GIS data, including spatial databases.
• Transfer data to/from GPS devices and post-process using differential correction.
• Digitize, scan, and georeference maps, engineering drawings, and imagery.
• Basic proficiency in Arc Pro.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS Arc Map.
• Completion of GIS cartography course (map making, editing data, digitizing, and compiling metadata).
• Completion of advanced GIS course preferred (geoprocessing, python scripting, and performing spatial analysis).

• Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering and have completed at least one year of study. Recent graduates with a bachelor's degree who plan to continue with a master's degree are eligible.
• Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Experience with ArcGIS Software, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
• Experience with geoprocessing tasks using Esri Model Builder and Python (not required).

• Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
• Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $18.00/hour - $25.00/hour.
