Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly sales & use tax and excise tax returns across multiple states
- Analyze and reconcile tax accounts on a monthly and annual basis
- Maintain registrations, certifications, and licenses with state and local tax jurisdictions
- Perform internal audits and ensure documentation of exemption certificates and permits
- Support accounting operations including month-end close, audit preparation, and GL reconciliation
- Review contracts and confirmations to assess direct and indirect tax implications
- Analyze tax issues, prepare write-ups, and ensure timely compliance with tax regulations
- Coordinate with corporate tax advisors on income nexus, apportionments, and other tax matters
- Monitor tax law changes and communicate updates to internal teams
- Investigate and respond to tax notices and draft correspondence with tax jurisdictions
- An Accounting degree with at least 5 + years of sales and use tax experience
- 3+ years of financial accounting experience and general accounting knowledge
- Show intermediate proficiency in Excel and strong attention to detail
- Preferably hold a CPA license or be working toward certification
- Exhibit the ability to support special projects and travel occasionally as needed
