Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Payroll Manager to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $50.00 to $65.00 per hour.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead end to end payroll processing for multiple states and ensure all pay cycles are timely and accurate.
  • Process transactions for terminations leaves salary changes taxes deductions direct deposits retro adjustments and equity related events.
  • Ensure compliance with laws rules and regulations by maintaining proper system configurations and completing all required filings on schedule.
  • Prepare and review payroll journal entries and reconciliations and flag items that impact the general ledger for follow up with accounting leaders.
  • Oversee payroll reporting standard and ad hoc manage employee inquiries and communications and coordinate payroll audits and control activities.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of payroll experience with current hands on processing and quarterly and year end compliance.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of multi state payroll taxes deductions and regulatory requirements.
  • Use payroll systems and supporting tools confidently and submit and test system changes as needed.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and in person including responses to notices from taxing authorities.
  • Collaborate effectively with human resources accounting information technology tax and legal while managing relationships with providers.
Qualifications:
  • Maintain accurate records prepare schedules and support audits while strengthening internal payroll controls.
  • Analyze payroll results reconcile accounts and provide clear explanations of variances and adjustments.
  • Manage a team by supervising training and developing staff and establishing clear expectations and procedures.
  • Produce reliable payroll metrics dashboards and reports that support leadership decisions and planning.
  • Demonstrate strong organization judgment and confidentiality while meeting deadlines in a fast paced environment.
