Contract HR Consultant (Benefits, Payroll & HRIS)
Location: Anaheim, CA (On-Site)
Role OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced HR Consultant to support benefits administration, payroll operations, and HRIS optimization on a contract basis. This hands-on role is best suited for a highly organized and systems-savvy HR professional with experience supporting multi-site and non-exempt populations. The HR Consultant will act as a liaison between employees, internal teams, and external vendors, ensuring people processes are accurate, compliant, and employee friendly.
The ideal candidate brings strong ADP Workforce Now knowledge, understands the full employee lifecycle as it relates to benefits and payroll, and is confident navigating HRIS tools, reporting dashboards, and compliance requirements.
Core Responsibilities- Benefits Administration & Support
- Serve as a primary contact for benefits inquiries, issue resolution, and plan education.
- Manage enrollments, life event changes, and terminations in ADP Workforce Now.
- Coordinate with benefits brokers and carriers on escalated issues.
- Support open enrollment communications and compliance documentation.
- Payroll Integration & Accuracy
- Validate benefit deductions and leave tracking as they relate to payroll.
- Partner with internal payroll functions or third-party providers to ensure accuracy.
- Identify and correct discrepancies in real-time.
- HRIS Reporting & Data Management
- Navigate ADP Workforce Now to generate reports and maintain system accuracy.
- Support HR leadership with real-time reporting and employee data integrity.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant data privacy regulations.
- Cross-Functional Coordination
- Act as a bridge between HR, Payroll, and external vendors.
- Support SOP documentation, internal process mapping, and system optimization.
- Participate in HR system testing or upgrades as needed.
- 5+ years of experience in benefits administration and payroll coordination.
- Strong ADP Workforce Now user experience (particularly Benefits and HR modules).
- Knowledge of ACA, COBRA, and other compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting multi-unit and non-exempt populations.
- Comfortable working on-site and collaborating cross-functionally.
- Experience in high-volume or manufacturing/distribution environments.
- Proficiency in Excel and generating HRIS-based reports.
- Strong customer service and employee support mindset.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.

CompensationThe projected annual salary is estimated at $35 - $50 per hour, based on years of demonstrated experience, representing the span of the range. The actual compensation will be formulated by the client and may vary based on factors that include, but are not limited to, the position offered, work experience, education, training, and commensurate experience.
