Pay Range InformationChapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors.
The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.
Develop and manage Graduate enrollment initiatives and associated strategies and activities. Effectively manage the Graduate Admission staff. Develop and execute, in consultation with the graduate programs, effective marketing, recruitment and leveraging plans. Develop and interpret prospect and applicant data. Manage the continuing development of SLATE CRM and People Soft ERP as relates to Graduate Admission. Partner with the faculty and administrators across campus to build strong, relationships while advocating for the operational needs of the Office of Graduate Admission.
The Director of Graduate Admission will be able to foster relationships, be an effective communicator and an innovator in the field of admission and recruitment. Represent Chapman to external constituencies. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking leader with strong analytical skills, a track record of cultivating a collaborative, supportive team environment, and a deep understanding of graduate enrollment trends.
- Manage the activities of the Office of Graduate Admission
- Manage the development of the Graduate piece of the ERP
- Work with Marketing, Slate CRM, and the schools to develop publications, direct mail, and other recruitment and outreach materials and activities
- Create and oversee training of Graduate Admission Staff, Program Staff, and Faculty in admission management software, processes and best practices.
- Manage budget including recommendations for necessary budget adjustments and request enhancements.
- Work with Graduate programs, Admission Operations and Admission counselors to maintain admission policy and procedures.
- Analyze enrollment trends and prospect data to inform short- and long-term strategies. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to institutional leadership and program partners.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the Graduate Admission team to ensure high-quality service and support across all graduate programs.
- Experience in managing professional employees in a higher education setting.
- 5 years of college/university Admission Office experience with increased responsibility over time.
- Previous experience creating domestic and international recruiting plans.
- Demonstrated experience in customer service, effective interpersonal communication, public speaking, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of the People Soft ERP system.
- Knowledge of Slate CRM.
- Experience in digital marketing and social media recruitment strategies.
- Experience in Graduate Admission at a not for profit higher education institution.
